During May 4, 2017, our council representative attended 2017 KIC Nesting Pitch Night which hosted by KIC and Thinktomi at Plug and Play Tech Center. For example, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy launched the Industrial Base Technology Development Program in 1987 and the Alternative Energy Development Program in 1988, and the Ministry of Information and Communication created the Information and Communications Technology Development Program in 1989.
The scale of these large companies - such as Samsung and Hyundai - not only enabled a massive pooling of resources, but also resulted in Korean manufacturing spandex moving into a new phase of growth driven by technological leadership and innovation, with a reputation for high-quality and leading-edge products.

Mr. Nghiem also expressed his sincere hope that in the near future, Korean investors and start-up supporting organizations would pay close attention and cooperate with Vietnam to build an innovative start-up eco-system which is a foundation for the development of the partnership relationship, promoting the economic development of the two countries.
ICBA and RDA will collaborate on improving food security in the two countries by adopting innovative technologies such as advanced sensor technologies, net-houses and vertical farming, as well as finding genes responsible for salt tolerance in plants with a particular focus on drought and salinity resilience of rice.

These key sectors also have high potential for cooperation between European and Korean companies, both for trade and investments." The five targeted sectors are: Green Energy Technologies, Healthcare & Medical Technologies, Environment & Water Technologies, Construction & Building Technologies, and organic Food & Beverage.
The government has created several Special Research and Development Zones, including Daedeok, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan and Jeonbuk, each with its own technological orientation, to promote regional industrial bases, business start-ups and local job creation through the commercialisation of R&D.

One reason is that the public research system has historically been skewed towards applied and development-oriented research, much of which is performed in the public research institutes (known as Government Research Institutes, GRIs, in Korea) that supply technology for industrial R&D.

Meanwhile, South Korean men spend more on skincare than those in any other country. The manufacturing capability based on Korea's process innovation will provide opportunities for domestic and foreign companies that wish to capitalize on process innovation capability.
